Acupuncture
therapy has been practiced for many thousands of years in the Orient,
and is still an important technique used to enhance healing of the body.
It works by balancing and moving energy within the living body through
a system of channels and acupuncture or energy points located at specific
areas.
I
have found that acupuncture is the most effective way of treating many
diseases, controlling pain, and enhancing the healing process.
Dr. Basko
Needles, electricity, lasers, and injections of vitamins
are used to stimulate these acupuncture points. Most animals tolerate
the treatment very well.
Dr. Basko is the only lecturing veterinarian and acupuncturist certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society practicing in Hawaii. He has been training veterinarians to perform acupuncture on animals for the past 30 years.
Dr. Basko successfully treats the following conditions with acupuncture:

· Geriatric problems

Jake, our beloved Golden Retriever, was beginning to have Hypoglycemic seizures, as well as problems with his hips. The Western treatment was to put him on Prednisone that had him going downhill within the week that is was prescribed. Thankfully, Dr. Basko provided his acupuncture treatments, herbal recommendations and recipes. Jake was given a "second wind" and quality of life until it was time to let him go.
Dr. Basko has also treated our Lab, Tasha, with acupuncture when she injured her back playing ball. He has cured her incontinence with prescribed herbs and dried yams that are cooked in her food. Thank you, Dr. Basko for your devotion and support to "all creatures great and small".
